THE ♡ BEHIND CV

Welcome to the story behind Chosen Vessel—a journey that’s been years in the making.

I grew up with a love for style, creativity, and God’s Word, filling my Bible with doodles, notes, and reflections. Bible journaling became my way of connecting with God—turning verses into art and words into inspiration. Little did I know, He was preparing me all along to share His message through what I loved most.

I went to college with a plan—my plan. Since I was little, I dreamed of going to school in Charleston, SC. It was my vision, my goal, and the path I was determined to follow.

Along the way, God nudged me—calling me to start a clothing brand. But I was caught up in college life and ignored Him. “I’ll do it after I graduate.”

Right before graduation, I got accepted into my dream nursing school in Charleston. Everything was falling into place—just as I had planned. But that summer at camp, a pastor approached me and said, “You’re running from God’s calling. I don’t know what it is, but you do.” Without hesitation, I replied, “I know, but I have nursing school coming up.”

Excuses. First, it was college. Then, it was nursing school.

I went to orientation, started classes, and even submitted my first assignment. The next day, my advisor pulled me aside. There was a transcript complication. I couldn’t continue the program. I had to wait an entire year to reapply.

I was devastated. This wasn’t my plan. Doubt crept in. I questioned God. Why was He shutting this door?

I lost friendships I never thought I would. I never had a job, never built a resume, and didn’t even have a LinkedIn account. But the next day, I made one. I applied for jobs, landed an interview, and got hired on the spot.

A month into working, I realized—this was my chance to finally step into the calling I had ignored. I launched Chosen Vessel and, shortly after, got accepted into nursing school—not in Charleston, but somewhere that allowed me to stay home, serve at my local church, and grow my business while pursuing my nursing degree.

Looking back, I see it clearly, if I had gone to Charleston, I would have never started this brand. I was so focused on my plans that I couldn’t see what God had in store for me.

Losing friends? God removed people from my life so I could grow closer to Him. He stripped away my plans to make room for His purpose.

One verse that carried me through this journey is Jeremiah 29:11:
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."

I owe everything to God’s guidance. God’s hand has been in every step of my journey. He removed obstacles I didn’t understand at the time to lead me toward His greater purpose.

I know what it feels like to chase your own plans, only to realize that God’s plan is far greater. My prayer is that every piece in this collection reminds you that you are chosen, called, and set apart for a purpose.

This isn’t just a brand—it’s a testimony. Here’s to wearing our faith and spreading the light!
